reading on down the thread there provides some interesting notes, comments and hacks.. I've never actually read a slashdot thread before and I'm quite impressed with the level of intelligence if not spelling and grammar that is present there...

Aye slashdot is an amazing site. True geeks the world over look to it for news and discussion.
I don't usually go there direct very often, usually find something that mentions an article on there that sends me the /. way.

I have it bookmarked.. I'm starting to think about using the feature of Firefox which allows multiple tabs to be opened at once.. like a homepage, but as many as you want... I just can never decide which one, so why not use many?
When you first open the browser that is...

Cracked in 24 hours, and here is the crack:
Thursday, July 28, 2005 Microsoft "Genuine Advantage" cracked in 24h: window.g_sDisableWGACheck='all' AV sez, "This week, Microsoft started requiring users to verifiy their serial number before using Windows Update. This effort to force users to either buy XP or tell them where you got the illegal copy is called 'Genuine Advantage.' It was cracked within 24 hours." Before pressing 'Custom' or 'Express' buttons paste this text to the address bar and press enter: javascript:void(window.g_sDisableWGACheck='all')
It turns off the trigger for the key check.

I was already checked and came out fine.. although I admit I was abit nervous. My XP is clean, but.. well, nevermind I'm not going to leave a digital copy of some info
