Overall - If you don't own any other Chez game from Steve Jackson pick it up. If you do you may want to skip it.
Impression: played this game twice the other night with Church. You are a goth living in an appartment trying to reach goth nirvana by collecting slack and gloom. You play cards like Pout and Sigh to get gloom, go shopping for things like Ripped Fishnets and even try to score some Cemetary Nookie. You also play cards on your oponent (things like credit card bill etc).
It plays nearly identical to the other Chez games (Chez Geek series, and I assume Chez Grunt and Greek). The only different is that some cards give you gloom. Gloom = slack points but it fades ever turn if you don't have people in your room (misery loves company), the more peopel in your room the easier gloom is to get. (Gloom can also be lost other ways, like being forced to babysit and enjoying it). Chez games are fun so so is this one.
My complaint - it is 'supposedly' compatable with the other Chez games. Well barely. 1st off the card backs are different from the other games. That is just dumb. Also the goth cards don't really fit with the geek cards, and the designers basically say 'tough'. If you are a goth you get gloom, if you aren't you don't, seems like the goths get quite the advantage.
Summary - its fun, its easy but its nothing special. Stick to Chez Geek if you don't own any yet as there are at least expansions out for it.

An ok game, but they should have made fun of the goths more.

I know the guy who designed the Chez games... Jon Darbro. We play V:tES online together. Good guy...

Most of them are great games, just wasn't as impressed by this one.
It must have done well enough, they put out an expansion for it.
Always meant to pick up Chez Greek, it looks like it would meld well with the main game, the one thing goth did not do well.
