I love them, though not the greatest track record have I.
Thus far I've played 7,8,10,10-2 and a couple of the older ones here and there. How can you not love them? Visually, stylistically, acoustically and narratively the ff games are pretty much the apex of rpg. (If not gaming entirely.)
Still, I've only ever finished 10 and that was only because I had borrowed it from a friend for like a year and she wanted it back. I mean, I would really like to have finished them all, especially 8 but they are soo freaking long! It's one of the things that makes them so epic, for sure, but I mean by the time I finished 10 I had forgotten a good chunk of the story because I had played it over a year's time. I've started ff8 about 5 different times, because I'll get back to it and realize that I have no clue what's going on and have to restart.
Anybody else have this problem regarding this franchise, or is just me?

Nah. The problem is you're not putting in enough good old fashioned marathon video game playing sessions. Lock yourself inside for a week (say March break always works nice for me) and play the game 10 -12 hours a day (or hey sometimes more) until you beat it! ;D ;D
