Quickly: good use of Wiimote, but boring.
[glow=blue,2,300]Summary:[/glow]
Re-live the joys of going to the carnival and spending hordes of cash on nearly impossible games to win tickets to get prizes that aren't worth nearly what you spent on the games to win them. Well pretty close, you just have to spend the $60 on the game, then you can play all the games you want.
This is a collection of over 25 mini-games all with a carnival theme. There are favorites like Skee-Ball, Balloon Darts, Test of Strength, etc. There are also a ton of things to spend your tickets on like funny hats and shoes, the love meter and your typical fortune teller.
[glow=green,2,300]The Good:[/glow]
Good use of the Wii-mote. The best I have seen since Wario-Ware and Wii Sports. The motions for most of the games are natural and very similar to what you would do if you really were at a carnival. Good amusement factor the first time you play each game and hear the carnies make fun of you. Also some of the unlockables are rather funny.
[glow=yellow,2,300]The Bad:[/glow]
For some of the games the controls are a little too sensitive, and then others not sensitive enough. Coin toss is nearly impossible due to trying to swing at a consistent speed, while Skeet-Ball you can hit 50 every time with a variety of different motions. The biggest problem though is it's boring. Its worth some fun, but even with a few beers it got boring after an hour or so. I have a feeling repetitive stress injuries could result from this game as well. Everything is done with the right hand, and by the time an hour was up my wrist was rather sore.
[glow=red,2,300]The Ugly:[/glow]The cost! This is a $60 game, the usual price for a Wii new release. Are the devs of this trying to tell me that 25 mini games are as good as a new Zelda Game, or a new Metroid? This game might, and I stress Might, be worth $20. It would be a great game to include with the system, or with a new Wiimote. It is definitely not worth the price of a brand new full game.
[glow=purple,2,300]Overall:[/glow]
A somewhat fun game in short doses, more fun with more people. Pretty good use of the Wiimote though the variety of moves all using one arm can be physically taxing. The biggest problem though is the price. You are paying $60 for about 25 mini games. These games are even simpler then those on WiiSports. It's just not worth the same price as say Zelda or Metroid or another big release title. Save your $60 and pick up the new Mario coming out in the next couple weeks, or pick up 2 or 3 budget titles that are even more fun.
