I'm going to run a RPGA adventure day at Hugin & Munin on Saturday, September 13th. There are two 6-player slots available, one at 1pm and one at 6pm. You can sign up for both but might get bumped from the second slot if there are enough new players to fill it. This will be 4th edition Dungeons and Dragons. Use the Players Handbook to make your character. There is more information on the RPGA and Living Forgotten Realms here: www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=rpgaSign-ups will be at Hugin & Munin or you can let me know in this thread. I'll be at H&M at noon that day to help if people need it to create characters. If your interest was piqued at World D&D day, this is a perfect time to pick up a PHB and get your hands dirty at playing your first character. New players are welcome.

I'm somewhat interested, but still haven't actually tried out 4th edition. Don't even own the rulebook yet. What level of player XP are you looking for here?

While new players (or at least to 4th edition) are welcome, some familiarity with 4th edition would be useful. I'd hope people will have read parts of the PHB and picked out a race and class to play. I will be there at noon to help people finish creating characters if they need it. Ideally, people will have a character ready to play (even if they've never played 4th edition yet). Use Method 1 or 2 (point buy) for creating characters. Character sheets can be found here. www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/charactersheets

Sounds good. We'll see. I would need to pick up a PHB and give it a once over first, and I'm not sure if that will happen. You can toss something in the calendar as well as the post here. That way the event will show up on the main forum page under a section that is separated and says Events This Month. That way you always have something on the front page, instead of having to try to bump this, or send out reminders.

Slots are filling up quick. The 6 pm time has maybe (?) one slot left. The 1:00 pm slot has 2 or 3 slots left. Those interested should speak up soon. Ian at, Hugin & Munin. www.huginmunin.com519-974-7898

If there is enough interest in the 6pm slot a second group can also play at that time so don't be too hesitant about signing for that slot if you've got a friend you want to play with.

I did finally pick up a PHB (had some Chapters Gift Certificates sitting around for like a year, and finally remembered them). Don't think I will be able to make it this weekend, but I will be trying to make it to one of the other sessions.

It looks like we were pretty successful yesterday and there looks to be good interest. I intend to run games at both 1pm and 6:30 Saturday the 20th. Please let Ian know or PM me here which time you're interested in playing.

I would love to join the 6:00PM game, especially since our Bi-Weekly D&D game had to be cancelled. I don't think I can make it though. I have a Birthday Party from 3PM to 5PM, at 5 I would have the Girl and need to get her out to Tecumseh, and then try to make it back into town for 6. Plus I have a feeling the BD party may not end at exactly 5.
Even if I can't make this this week I'd like to get a toon done for next time around. I'm guessing I make whatever the heck I want and hope that it works with whatever everyone else made? Or am I safer coming up with a couple different toons and then picking the one that fits best with the group?
Lastly, my printer appears to be proper f'd. Is old fashioned pen and paper acceptable? If not I may be able to figure something out at work.
EDIT: thought of something else. Will you guys be providing RPGA numbers or do we need to pre-register online?

Well, the session is at 6:30 this week, not 6. That might help you decide.
Make whatever character you want. Having a backup can be a good idea but not neccessary.
Pen and paper is fine as long as you know what stats and powers you have.
I should be there between 5 and 6:30 to help finish character creation if you need it.
Ian has DCI numbers available at H&M.

6:30 eh? Well then sign me up!
It's probably been 10 years since I have actually Played an RPG instead of running one, so don't expect much. Plus I have 0 xp with 4e, but I'm a quick study.
Now I've just got to try to get through the majority of the PHB in two days, while still completing a mini for the Goblin Market show (working on another Fairy Meat mini) and trying not to get too distracted by Rock Band 2 in the mean time.
See you Saturday.
Just thought of something DCI numbers.... I have one of those from playing in D&D mini tournies. That the same as your RPGA number?

Just bring your DCI number from when you played DDM.
Consider yourself signed.
