Want to play D&D 4th edition but can't commit to a regular game? Is it hard for you to find others to play with? It's time to try RPGA at Hugin and Munin. We will be running 4 hr. adventures designed for Level 1-4 characters every other Saturday in Sept. and Oct. and beyond. The beauty is, there are no prerequisites to playing any adventure you can make it to. And you get reward cards for playing RPGA that let you do cool things with your characters. Characters all start at 1st level but gain XP, treasure, magic items, and level up as usual. Days and times: Sept. 13 1:00 (3 spaces left) 6:00 (1 space left) Sept. 20 6:30 (4 spaces available) Oct. 4 6:30 (4 spaces available) Oct. 18 6:00 (4 spaces available) Oct. 25-26 Weekend in the Realms Special Event 3 different adventures Saturday 25 1:00 (6 spaces available) 6:00 (4 spaces available) Sunday 26 1:00 (5 spaces available) If there is enough interest in 1:00 pm times on the 20th,4th,18th, then we will add a session. FYI-You can play in both sessions but you have to play a different character in each. Please sign up at Hugin and Munin or on this board or call Ian at 519-974-7898 For more information on RPGA go to www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=rpga We will be available before the session to help anyone having trouble creating their character.

We had another successful couple of games, with everyone enjoying themselves. There's room for 1 more person for both the 1pm and 6:30pm slots on October 4th. Let me know if you're interested.

I'm definitely interested in the 1pm slot on the 4th if it's still open. Anything special i need to do, like register somewhere or something? Or do i just show up? Also, just how far is it from the University of Windsor?

If you'd like to sign up for the 1pm slot on October 4th, please call Ian at Hugin & Munin (519-974-7898) and let him know. He can also help answer other questions you may have. Since there is only 1 slot left, the sooner you call, the better.
Hopefully you have a 4th edition PHB and have made a character. I usually get there at noon so I'd encourage you to come early and we can finish the details of your character. If you want, go to Wizards of the Coasts' RPGA site for more information on character creation.
The Forgotten Realms Players Guide is recently released and has content that you can use as well.

Hey it's awesome to see something like this really take off. I don't know if FundinStrongarm would be up for it, but it looks like you guys could use another session. Perhaps sometime during the week. I'd offer to help out but I'm not where near taking one of those tests to register as a DM.

The test isn't all that tough but would require you to have the 3 core books at your fingertips when you took it. And, depending how it works out, as long as Ian or I were there (or is it only if we sanction it?) you don't even need to be a Herald level DM at all to run a session.
I'm thinking if interest grows the options would be to have sessions on the occasional Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday or a second session in either the 1pm or 6/6:30 slot on Saturday. Tuesday or Wednesday could be iffy, depending on how late Ian would want to stay at the store.
I'm not sure the direction to go as far as seeking further interest. Should I try to do a session at a different time and hope people sign up? Should I wait and see if we get more interest before looking at a new time?
There is also a new format called D&D Delve which is just 4 combat encounters per month, intended to be played as 1-1.5 hours per week as a kind of after-work thing. There are no details on how it might work just yet though.

Isn't the store open until 9:00 on both Tues and Wed. Wouldn't a 5-9 session work (depending on your work schedule)? Personally I would be more likely to show up for a Noon or 1PM Sunday Session, over a weeknight, but I have no clue how other people would feel.
What I would suggest is to pick whatever day works best for you and Ian and then advertise it as a Potential new session. If you get 4 or more interested players then the game is a go. Another suggestion would be to have this other night be banned for players that played on Saturday, that way you can get 6 new people out, and not just 6 new characters. If you don't get enough interest then open it up to the Saturday players.
Overall, you are the one running the games and Ian and Duane are the ones running the shop so it's between you guys. I'm not in a position to start taking on the responsibility of another weekly/bi-weekly game, whether I could pass a test or not, I've got enough on my plate so far. It is something I may consider in the long run though.
Regarding the Devles - that sounds rather cool to me. That may be better for a Weeknight gaming sessino as you could start later at say 7:00 and hit people after dinner. Or it could work for a Sunday afternoon diversion.

For October 18th, both our 1pm and 6:30 slots are looking like they are full. However, check out the Weekend in the Realms thread for a chance to play. Also, the 1pm slot on the 18th MIGHT have an opening if someone wants to go on a waiting list. If you have any questions contact me here or call me at 251-1886 or contact Ian at Hugin & Munin. www.huginmunin.com

What are the plans for November?

I want to keep the 'every-other-week' thing going and not count Weekend in the Realms (it'll just be extra). So, that means November 1, 15 and 29th. (Kinda sucks because the Pre-release tournament for Demonweb is the 1st but what are ya gonna do?)

Are there any openings for the upcoming November games?

It's likely the same crowd that fills the current 1pm and 6:30pm timeslots will fill the the ones coming in November. However, if there is enough interest, it's possible we could end up trying 2 tables at 6:30 more often. That would open up room for new players.
I think we'll see how well running two tables at once goes for Weekend in the Realms before we commit to anything more right now. However, having new people show interest will at least let us know it might work okay.

I have registered November 1st, 15th and 29th as RPGA events at Hugin & Munin. We will have the standard 1pm and 6:30pm start times. Please sign up if you are interested in playing but aren't in one of the regular groups. That way we know whether to have more timeslots or not.
Contact me here or Ian at Hugin & Munin at 974-7898.

During our last game on the 29th I managed to snap a couple pics that I thought would be worth sharing. These are from the 6PM sessions:

Thanks for posting pics of the last session!
For those interested, we'll be starting up again on January 10th and then every other Saturday after that. Times will be 1pm and 6:30pm. Cost = $1 per session to cover printer ink costs.
Currently there is room for only 1 new player in the 1pm timeslot. However, it is useful to let me know if you are interested in the 6:30 slot as it possible that we can run 2 sessions at that time with enough notice.

It is a great time to jump into RPGA D&D. We're running adventures every Saturday starting May 9th. (We skip the long weekend and May 23rd is MMII World D&D Day at noon.)
May 9th and then June 6th and every other Saturday at 1pm are available for new players to jump in.

Starting July 4 at 1pm and every other Saturday after that new players are welcome to come out a join us. Sounds cool and I'd be interested in joining, do players roll up a character beforehand? Also is it still just the $1 administration fee per session? and is there some sort of pre-registration for these sessions or is it just a first come first in type thing? Thanks ahead, Baltar

It is first come first served but this has yet to be a problem. We usually have 2 DMs so can handle 12 players (and 14 in a pinch, I suppose). However, on the odd occasion where we only have 1 DM, new players are given priority if they've mentioned they are coming out.
Yes, just a buck to cover the ink costs of printing the adventures.
It is best to create your character using the Character Builder download on WotC's website. It is free for levels 1-3. However, you can make them yourself by following the rules in the PHB on character creation. Use the 22 point buy. Most everything from WotC is legal for play. If you have any questions on this feel free to ask.

Just downloaded AGLA 1-1 in preparation for the level 1-4 RPGA game this Saturday. Come out to Hugin and Munin at 1:00 and challenge The Temple of the Fey Gods. No XP necessary!
Level 1-4 (new player) weekends every other Saturday. Preference given to new players. Multiple DMs ready for all comers.
