Here's the line-up of summer beers from the LCBO.
Erdinger Weissbier Saison Dupont Schofferhofer Hefeweizen Floris Honey Chapeau Exotic Lambic Rogue Half-e-Weizen Belgian Peches Christoffel Blond Edelweiss Hefetrueb Weissbier Fruli Strawberry
Some interesting selections. 4 different wheat (weiss, weizen) beers, a few pseudo-lambic styles, a saison and a pilsner. Hopefully these will start showing up soon at the Roundhouse LCBO. Toronto beer folk are reporting sporadic spottings of the wheat styles, and apparently the Belgian Peches and Saison Dupont may come out a little later thanks to some LCBO paperwork.

We should start a pool on how many of these beers actually make it to Windsor.
The LCBO and especially the Windsor stores are so frustrating.
I have half a mind just to drive up to Ottawa in the next couple of weeks and hit the LCBO logistics center.

We could start a pool, but I already checked this morning and a few are indeed available at the Roundhouse, including the Rogue, and some wheat. Of course no sign of Saison Dupont yet Hopefully we'll see a few of the missing ones in Ottawa, really want to stock up on the Saison Dupont. SHould age alright, plus Saison isn't a style common to these parts.

I will need to pick up some stuff for Saturday, should hook up and take a trip out there (and maybe a couple others Loson Prkway comes to mind). Maybe hit the gamestop as well and look for Wario Ware. That game would go good with beer.
Off the list wasn't Fruli in town before, the name sounds familiar, or maybe it was one I saw on the trip.

I'll actually be taking a trip out there tonight, running a few errands and making a stop, since I have to hit the mall. Fruli Strawberry was indeed released here... I rated it August 1 2004. (gave it 2.7/5)

Supprised Pandora hasn't made me drive out there yet.
I should go out and pick up one of each.
BTW is the LCBO open Friday, aka Tomorrow?

Hmm... think I need to make a LCBO run tonight then.
Any suggestions on the new runs? Or am I best off picking them all up?

Grab Christoffel Blond for sure. The wheat beers were about what I expected - average. The Rogue Half-E-Weizen was disappointing. Floris Honey is super sweet, lemony. Kind of like a cough drop. Not sure if they got the other few in yet...

The Fruli Strawberry most likely sounds familiar because I tried it in the past. And I was none too impressed with it. Too damn sweet, like most fruit beers.
I would rather like to try the Chapeau Exotic Lambic and the Belgian Peches.
CIH: Your description of Floris made me vehemently want to avoid it. What style is a Saison? I've never heard of it?

The Floris wasn't as bad as I thought, but you have to like honey. It's actually supposed to be a Belgian wit (like Hoegaarden) with honey added. Try it, it's cheap enough. I'd like Belgian Peches and Exotic too but they weren't stocked when I was there last week Saison is ale, it originated in french speaking Belgium. It's a style often referred to as "farmhouse" ale, rather rustic. Producers are often very small and traditional. Medium to high alcohol (6-8%), often herbs and spices are added (coriander, orange peel, black pepper). Sound good?
