Games Expo 2007 is being set up for next March. This new Con is attempting to be the Granddaddy of all cons.
This is a Con for all non electronic forms of Gaming. Roleplaying, Dice, Cards, Miniatures, Educational, board, etc. It is created by Games Quarterly Magazine in an attempt to get three groups of people together; Game designers, game players and game retailers. Their goal is to grow the global gaming society to huge numbers.
Below I will link the entire article - its very impressive what they are attempting to do. Here are some highlights:
"Games Expo 2007 will feature up to an 80,000+ square foot exhibit hall, celebrity guests, and plenty of time when the exhibit hall will not be open so that networking and entertainment can occur"
"Over the past few months we have communicated with many industry professionals, and key clients. We believe the Expo already has the support of nearly 200 companies, plus numerous groups, individuals and associations."
"Special Game Events will occur in Game Arenas in the exhibit hall. The Game Arenas, plus large Anchor Booths strategically placed throughout the hall will insure that every booth is a good location. Banquets, free to all Buyers, make the show more affordable to all sizes of retailers. "
"Exhibit Hall Special Features
Games Expo 2007 is being planned to feature constant in-booth demonstrations of games. We also plan to set up Game Arenas- high tech open air rooms surrounded by exhibitor’s booths in which a scheduled list of special game play events will take place."
This sounds like a truely awsome event. Anyone up for Vegas next year?
