Hey all,
I've decided that it's time to stop whining about not being able to find anybody, and start by offering a campaign. I don't have much in the way of specifics, but I want to run a Pulp Steam-Punk campaign, entirely Urban. The system will be Heroes, and the tone will generally dark with some humour thrown in because dammit, darkness never works by itself. The general era for the technology level will be that of the height of the British Empire, in the later 1700s early 1800s.
If you're interested, I tend to run out of my house, so I'd like to meet prospective players on neutral ground. I'm looking for 3-4 players, so if (and this is a big if) more people are interested, I will be deciding between them.
Drop me a line, respond to this thread, email me, send smoke-signals (but don't expect me to understand them) whatever tickles your fancy.

Glad to see someone starting up a game. Just a couple suggestions. Hugin and Munin offers tables for playing games at. This may be a great place to run your first couple of games to get to know the players. I understand the desire to meet people before inviting them to your home. Another good oportunity to meet your players is the Coffee Exchange downtown. Sinister (Ron) the proprietor hosts a boardgaming night every Wednesday. Plus it should be a great place to meet and make characters. Lastly I can suggest our monthly gatherings, but it will be a bit before our next one.

Another quick one, even if you don't plan on running at H&M put up a sign up. It's pretty much the only gaming store in town, so that's where you find the players.
Note: Millenium Comics (on Ottawa) has started carrying roleplaying, but I haven't had a chance to get in there to see what they have yet, so haven't officially posted anything or contacted them for a link/advertising.

Not familiar with the system (atleast I don't think I am) but would be willing to try it - providing you're interested in having a newbie. The setting sounds interesting.

Ok, I'm going to have to make some slight changes. Upon further consideration of what I'm going to do, I'm not really certain I can call it pulp. It's more in the realm of English Gentlemanly (or Gentlewomanly) adventures with a fantasy twist.
It will, of course, keep the dark and urban aspects, so if you want to call it pulp, you're more than welcome to do so.

To whom it may concern, I have sent an advertisement for my game to be placed up at Hugin and Mugin, but for those of you unable or unwilling to visit the store just to check it out, I will email it on request. Also, today I found an online system that is MUCH simpler than Heroes and is designed for the specific style of game I have in mind. It can be found at: www.lovecraftiana.com/docs/forgotten-futures.pdfThanks to Gilvan for posting the site I found it at. Also, the game is expected to take a turn for the silly, so if you're interested in the darkness, it might be lacking.
