Apocrypha Studios will be accepting submissions from graphic artists who are interested in joining the Questionable Crew in our crusade to produce excellent RPG material. At the moment we are in development of our first game, Ngenesis: the Trials of Flesh, a unique blend of post apocalyptic / scifi / fantasy / theological style role playing. I will leave the details of the game and Apocrypha Studios to our homepage,
check it out at: apocrypha.huntandkillam.com The writing is nearing completion, we are in alpha playtesting of the system and setting right now. What we will soon be needing is a graphic artist.
Submissions do not have to be huge or complex, but must include at least two of the following three categories:
1. Graphic Novel
We want to develop the story of Ngenesis through black and white graphic novel style storytelling and may in fact produce a continuing comic series if it works well enough. What we want to see in this category is 2 or 3 black and white panes depicting the following piece of story.
Awareness dawns... instantly. Nothing gradual, no slow slide through increments of consciousness, just nothingness and then the flare of blazing matrices of light. Miraculous and of infinite complexity, of which I know, just know, I am an integral component.
Welcome my son, to the Illumination. (This line should appear in small caps)
2. Ordos Symbols
The Ngen have organizations which focus on singular philosophies/concepts, called Ordos. Ngen characters may become a part of an Ordos to gain additional training, skills, power, etc. The three Ordos being introduced in the core book will be the Sifuun (Warmasters and Soldiers), Zayheus (Lawmakers and Magistrates) and the Onahs (Teachers and Scholers). What we would like to see are black and white examples of possible Ordos symbols.
3. The Ngen
The following is an excerpt from Ngenesis, describing the appearance and equipment that Ngen characters begin with. We would like to see black and white profiles of what an Ngen might look like as they take their first step into the world of the flesh.
The various hair colors and styles and skin tones of Ngen include all the racial varieties of humanity that was. However all Ngen have strange colored pale eyes. Colors may vary, but there are no dark or brown colors and they are always very pale. Ngen are also tall and slender, the more Pyur-formed the Ngen, the taller and more slender they are. However, though they may seem it, they are in no way fragile. The Pyur-based biotechnology and genetic engineering makes them deceptively hardy. Male and Female Ngen are very similar, in fact all Ngen have a touch of androgyny about them.
Deficient Average Height / Weight: 5ft6 - 6ft3 / 155lbs - 175lbs
Integrated Average Height / Weight: 6ft0 - 6ft9 / 160lbs - 185lbs
Codified Average Height / Weight: 6ft6 - 7ft3 / 165lbs - 195lbs
Ngen do not start with a lot of equipment. Each Ngen starts with a one piece Pyurtech jumper suit that is self repairing and self adjusting to any climate, while being thin enough to easily remain concealed beneath any outer clothing that may be found in the unrecovered world. In one of the boots is a sheath holding a well crafted steal dagger (Str +3 Lethality, +3 Initiative). The belt holds a pair of canteens (holds enough water for a rationed week) and a small pouch of dry concentrate provisions (enough to last 2 weeks). Only members of an Ordos begin with any other equipment, a small Pyurtech disk. It is solar rechargeable and contains a small fragment of the Avatars of the Ordos, but only enough to serve as teachers of the Ordos Advanced and Knowledge skills.
Artists who wish to submit should check out our homepage and everything we have posted on Ngenesis (including and ESPECIALLY the cover art, which we have already obtained and is a perfect representation of the game) to get as much a feel for the fledgling game as possible. If there are any questions about the game, setting or submissions, feel free to ask.
Questions/Comments/Submissions can be sent to: apocrypha@huntandkillam.com
Deadline of the open call is April 31st
