Okay it's been way too long since a group of us have gotten together and talked about and played some games.
The biggest problem is I don't know when and where will work best for people. Looking at my schedule I'm thinking it would have to be Friday night. I'm thinking at the Kildare House as we never did come up with a better venue (The KofC is out on Friday night, Fish day).
Any Friday should work for me, as with the current crap going on at Chrysler I don't think I will be working any Saturday's any time soon.
So to get things moving I propose this:
A WGR Gathering: Pints and Pawns 8 (it is 8 right?) Friday November 7th 7:00 to 10:00 or later (aka I guarantee I will be there until 10:00*) at The Kildare House
I will bring Bohnanza and The Great Dalmuti for sure, and may grab some other quick to learn fun to play games.
Most likely if we get more then 4 people out for this we will be there until close, but if you do plan to attend show up before 10:00, we'll play it by ear at that point.
As usual note the Kildare has a great Improt and Domestic Beer Selection. They at one time had great food, I can't vouch for that anymore as they changed chefs and I haven't had the new chef's food in quite some time.
So who's up for this?
If you can't attend, is there a better date/time/place?
I'd also like to talk to Ian (Huginandmunin) about another late night boardgaming night at the store, but I know most of his weekends are now full with D&D games and Sanctioned CCG and Mini events.

Well you know I'll be there.
I think you should send out a mass email now, to let people know we're planning another event. Since it seems some folks only log in here infrequnetly. That will increases you're likelyhood of getting a response to this post.

Good idea. Done.
It would be great to have some of the old regulars back out, like Sinister, Highlander, Tim (don't even know if he's a member here), Ian, etc.
Once we finalize the date I will do the usual promotional stuff and post on Facebook, Live Journal, Hugin and Munin, The Chosen Realms, etc.

So... looks good for me so far.

I'm marking my calender and hope to make it with my wife. We have some great short games -Bounty, Inn Fighting, Guillotine, Grave Robbers From Outer Space- and a few longer games. We have the Order of the Stick board game too, but it's a bit rules intensive and tends to last three hours. It is great fun when you get into it.

I'd love to try Order of the Stick sometime, but I don't think this would be the right venu.
The one thing to consider is that this place is a pub, we will be playing on pub tables, and I would hazard a guess that people will probaby be drinking more then just Coke. Due to that I don't suggest bringing anything with lots of little pieces, your prized game, anything that won't fit at a bar table, etc. We've found in the past card games work well, Guillotine would be a good one (I don't know the others), but something like OotS is probably too much for this venue.
What we have done in the past is had events at the Knights of Columbus on Walker. That venue is much better suited to board games and things that take long hours or lots of room. We've talked a bit about moving these events back there but haven't really done the research required yet (aka I have no clue how busy they get anymore, when they close now, if we would even still be welcome, etc).
Overally I'm glad to see so many people showing interest early. What I've got to do next is make sure we can reserve the upstairs for the 7th. I will let everyone know when I get an answer from Heath.

Facebook event created here: www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=37875810717I've posted on Windsor_Users, 519Gamers, 519Cafe and Windsor_Promote on LiveJournal. I put something up on the Hugin and Munin forum as well. Am I forgetting anywhere? One of these days I really should design a poster of some type, something where I can just write the date in, and change that for each event. That would probably generate the most newcomers.

Looks like I may have to cancel this event.
I'm at home on vacation and I just got a call that my employer is shipping me out to Kentuky next week. There is no way I can make it back to Windsor in time for 7:00PM. From what I understand I won't even be getting out of their until 7:00 that day, and it's an over 5 hour drive. If I could make it at all it would be very late after a long day and a long drive.
Are people still interested in getting together without my presence, and potentially more importantly, my games? Personally I was really looking forward to this and I'm tempted to just push it out a week or two assuming people are free then.

It's disappointing, because it's rare when I get a Friday night off. Oh well, duty calls.

I've moved the offial event to the 14th, but as I noted on Facebook there's no reason a bunch of you couldn't get together on the 7th as well, or the 8th for that matter.
Sorry guys this was an unexpected trip.

I'll have to see if we can reschedule the babysitter, but if we can, then the 14th would be fine with us.

First off I think someone should change the banner on the front page to reflect the change of date for the P&P's Kildare G2G from the 7th to the 14th. It woudl help alleviate any confusion.
Other than that I will be there the 14th for the festivities. It actually works out better for me on the 14th anyways.
CUL8R... OMG wOOt!
I like those neauseating text-speak thingies... SO THERE!

Changed the banner at the top. Noticed that when I loaded the page.
Just found out I am stuck down here for another week but did some wheeling and dealing and got Friday off, so I will be heading back Thurday night and will be there with bells on (not literally) on the 14th.

Thanks to everyone that came out Saturday night and made our latest Pints and Pawns event a success. That was the best turn out we have seen thus far which is very encouraging.
I took a couple picutres at the event and will post them here when I get them off my camera.

You had the worst possible case of Red eye in every single pic. You must be part cat or something. I used the photoshop quick fix and it did some odd things, still looks better then the glowing red though.
