Okay this caught my eye today:
"This is the perfect game for those who enjoy the thrill of role-playing games filled with dungeon crawling, treasure looting and critter fighting. But the great thing about this downloadable title is that it’s very likely to thrill even those who don’t think that action RPGs are their thing.
“Torchlight” (created by the talent behind the beloved “Diablo” and “Diablo II” games) is one of those rare titles that both hardcore players and more casual players can thoroughly enjoy. Its easy-to-use interface makes it friendly to those who don’t typically play RPGs, and yet it is deep enough and so thoroughly engaging that it will steal the hearts of seasoned gamers as well.
The game takes place in the town of Torchlight, a settlement plagued by an evil force unearthed from the nearby mines. Players choose from three character classes and then head out into these very mines. Each level is randomly generated, guaranteeing a unique experience each time you play, and each level is filled with all manner of monsters and an endless variation of treasures to find.
Ultimately, the game is rife with quests to keep you coming back for more ... and you will keep coming back for more.
For those who want to try before they buy, there’s a free demo available at Torchlightgame.com."

From what I recall about the game, It's not by Blizzard; It's by a few developers who broke off from Blizzard and made their own Studio. Still, I've heard nothing but good reviews about the game.

Yeah this one isn't from Blizzard, but from the coders of the original two diablos.
There is a 2 hour trial you can check out. I did and I was very impressed. Cell Shades style graphics were a bit odd but everything else screamed Diablo. Excellent gameplay. There is some Hack mixed in with the diablo engine. You have a cat or dog that goes with you. It can attack and you can feed it things to buff it up and can even turn it into a monster. Also the dungeon is randomized each time. So really what you have here is a $20 DiabloHack
Seriously thinking about paying the low price for this one after the holiday debt is paid off. I strongly suggest checking out the demo.
