From 1up (catching up on Video game news, it's been a while)
While not exactly surprising, Activision confirmed that they are committed to turning Call of Duty into an annual franchise at today's Q4 conference call. We're calling it Call of Duty 7 for lack of an official name, but Activision unfortunately didn't share any details on the title's setting or time period. After pointing out that this year's profits were aided by the enormous success of Modern Warfare 2, the company noted they do not plan to see the same success with this year's installment. No kidding.
Though the next game in the series is still shrouded in mystery, we heard rumors regarding it as far back as last year. The game is unsurprisingly said to be helmed by Treyarch again, and may take place in Vietnam or Cuba. The announcement of a new title this year matches with word of a November release, so it's probably safe to say that we've been close to the mark so far.

Honestly, there is a limit on the amount of COD that I want to own, or even play. I have MW2, COD 3, and have played all of MW, and really am not interested in another, even if it did have new multi maps and a campaign that took more than the few hours of MW2.
I am thinking about buying the new Medal of Honor game, though. It looks pretty cool, or at least better than anything Activision has put out.

I'm behind on these. Last I played was 3. I have MW but haven't even taken the shrink off of it.
As you can probably tell by the activity level on our Video game boards, I haven't really touched my system lately. Right now it's not even online, I either need to run some cable or pick up the wireless router for my 360.

I would advise playing campaign first, unless you're really into competition, or you plan to play with friends.
My PS3's internet/hard-drive is shot, so I haven't had any internet access in forever, and MW2 is still just a great game to pull out when people are hanging around. If the maps look good, and the guns aren't crap, I *might* buy it, although not at full price.

I don't remember the last time I bought a game a full price.
I tend to buy more of my stuff at the rental places. Blockbuster or Rodgers. Rodgers often has a buy 2 games for $40.

Yea, I don't get the prejudice against used games: if there's no physical damage, what's the worry?
I often just buy a good while after it's released: my parents shop at Costco, and they'll randomly put big-name games on sale.

I usually stick to the video places because they offer 30 days no questions asked returns on used stuff. I've gotten a few bum discs over the years and always gotten another copy or credit.

I'm just waiting for Blockbuster to finally go out of business: buy up their entire stock.
