I only wish we had a gaming area like this in Windsor. Co-located with the Crossfit Colosseum gymnasium, 222 Islington Ave., Unit 4 on the ground floor. Operating on weekends, doors open at noon and close at 10pm Saturday, 8pm Sunday. Ample free parking available. Admission fee of $7 for Saturday or $5 for Sunday. Enjoy my library of games in a well-lit space. Titles include a wide range from classic Avalon Hill wargames to modern Euro games. proudships.blogspot.com/2010/01/boardgame-colosseum.html

This is walking distance from my apartment but I never got a chance to check it out. Just my luck.
I did have a conversation with another local gamer, however, who did not approve of the idea. His beef was that we shouldn't have to pay to play in a place like this when we can just sit down in a game store or someone's place and play for free. I think that's true, but for people like myself who do not know a lot of gamers in the area that's not much help.

I was on the fence regarding price. That place is huge, and with that many tables it's almost like going to the open gaming room of a convention. Due to that I thought the price would be justified, if the tables were filled. You can fit a lot more people in this space then you could at the usual games store and due to that it may have been worth paying for.
I was just surprised by how short a time it lasted. Guess it didn't really fail, the organizer gave the reason for the closure being that he was moving away from the area.
