"An old tutor asks the adventurers to recover a stolen family heirloom for a down-on-their-luck Waterdhavian noble family."
Welcome to Waterdeep what was the biggest city in The Realms. Even if Baldur's Gate has surpassed Waterdeep in size in population it can't compare with the splendor of the old capital. Join up with a group of adventurers and try to solve a robbery for one of the cities oldest noble families.
I just got the notice that we have some free space at tomorrow afternoons RPGA Living Forgotten Realms game. So if you have considered coming out, or thought about coming back out now is a good weekend to do it.
What is RPGA? - The Role Playing Gamers Association is a form of organized 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons gaming. Each RPGA event is a 4 hour session of D&D in which the players play through a sanctioned module. At the end of the module players are awarded money, xp and possibly a magic item. Players are then free to take that character to any other sanctioned RPGA event. So you could come out and play tomorrow, then bring your character down to Origins this weekend and play a game with the same character there.
Modules for RPGA run about 4 hours long and are serialized. This means that each module is a full stand alone story. There are some that are sequential but it's not necessary to have played the first part in a series to play the second (though usually there is a better reward if you play through an entire series. Our events start at 1:00 and we ask then you plan to be avaliable until at least 5:00PM. Sometimes we end sooner then that though we seldom run over.
The current season of RPGA is set in The Forgotten Realms. They call these events Living Forgotten Realms because what you do in the module will affect the events in future modules. At the end of each module the DM will note down things like which NPCs were killed, which groups you helped etc. This gets reported to WotC who use the info to plan the future adventures.
So sounds great right? What do you need to play? Well all you need is a 1st level character that follows a very small set of restrictions (basically anything from a published source is aloud but they have to be full races and classes, so no monsters from the Monster Manual). Here is a copy of the RPGA player creation guide:

Part of LFR is that you have to pick a region your character comes from (basically it ties your character to The Realms). For this I suggest checking out the Forgotten Realms Player's guide as there are some pretty cool benefits to coming from certain regions. This is not needed to play though.
So come out to Hugin and Munin and 1:00PM Saturday June 26th for some adventure.
