Wondering if people are free in July for a Saturday boardgaming event at the KofC.
I was thinking July 10th or 17th as that's when Chrysler takes their summer shutdown minimizing the chance I will have to work as well as freeing up the members here that I know work at WAP.
Are either of these days better then the other?
Also, a while back I spent some time looking for a new venue for us. I was looking for 2 things and possibly two places. One somewhere that is not a KofC. Though open to the public I know we have people who are not comfortable attending events at a Knight of Columbus for religious or political reason. So somewhere 100% neutral would be nice. Second somewhere we can have a late night, adults only event. Okay that sounded bad, what I mean is somewhere we can have a few drinks to go with our games. I used to organize events I called Pints and Pawns at the Kildare House. There we we place more 'beer and pretzel' type games and usually had quite a few pops. It was always a fun night but of a different flavour from our Games and Grub events. I've yet to find a suitable replacement for the Kildare.
Does anyone know of anywhere we could have either type of event that wouldn't cost us anything extra to get in?

Either day is good for me. I think the Kildare is open again. How about the Univ. of Windsor again.

The Kildare if it has re-opened is under new management who have opened it as a "High End Pub" I don't think we will be welcome there anymore. I could be wrong. Maybe I will try to stop in there sometime soon and check the place out after I take out a loan so I can afford a beer or two.

17th isn't so great for me. I have a week long exam.

My wife just reminded me that we have plans the weekend of the 10th. I'm not positive they will be on the 10th but most likely they will be. So the 17th may be the best date.
The Dominion House was suggested as a possible venue for a Pints and Pawns. I may look into this, though I think the event in July will be a usual Games and Grub. A P&P event may be in the near future though.

If we play at the Dominion House I think I will bring Dominion.

Well it ends up that your friendly local event planner is busy on the 17th! So are all of you it ends up. We are all going to be at Hugin and Munin at 1:00 for RPGA living forgotten realms aren't we?
So that means the next viable date for an G&G event is July 24th.
That being said I am not opposed to an event at night on the 17th at the DH if that works. I do have a wife and a couple of kids I need to get approval from for that event though.

Looks like I have plans at night on the 17th as well. Geesh, who thought I would be this busy during shutdown.

What about the 18th at the University again?

I would prefer if Knightsky organizes any event at the U as he's a Grad Student there. I hate to presume we can use the space without a single student present. I'd probably be willing to show up though if he is able to set something up. I know mid to late July he's busy with a final Exam though.
