First session of the new game was played last night. Played a full session 8:00 PM - 2:00 AM.. ideally playing those times every week realistically a bit of a stretch though. New characters were drafted:
Vlad Koskovich - Russian spellcaster. Healer
Rourke - Dwarven gunman. Locksmith
John Snow - Elven gun slinger. Duster & Cowboy hat
Blast Adams - Troll Gunner
Slyth - Experienced Runner, Sypher's brother. On the team when Sypher died - Sent to keep an eye on the greenhorns
Fingers McMurphy - Irish Sneak Attack - Veteran Gangmember
Characters were recruited in the train tunnels and a group was chosen to travel to Freetown - A Coast Town village built below a collapsed section of freeway.
Led by an elected official, Freetowns economy is based from salvage runs into the biological wasteland. Freetown salvage teams are sent into the wastes, provided with a single firearm, assigned to take anything thats not bolted down.
Freetown is a most peaceful village and people there keep mostly to themselves - they do not have a militia of any kind, which is why people became so worried when salvage teams started to disappear. Night after night workers were being lost.
Pressure was being applied to the mayor. Freetown Johnson put the word out - "Shadowrunners Wanted"
The team was hired to find the lost salvage workers. They were last assigned to a section of the docks - Pier 118. The job was to find recover the villagers and secure the pier.
The fresh faced team bought up equipment in the village before leaving for the pier. Inhabitants seemed sickly. Some were missing patches of hair, others looked on with bulging eyes. The most extreme were seen with giant tumours.
Characters who failed a Body check began showing subtle symptoms. Nasal congestion, sore thoat, coughing - dizzyness and tunnel vision. swollen tongue -- side effects of environmental toxins. The new gang members suspiciously eyeballing Fingers and Slyth, who comfortably wear kevlar weave bio-hazard suits.
