We will be going back to having two regular tables, one level 1-4 and one level 4-7.
Level 1-4:
BALD 1-4 Silent Streets and Vanished Souls - DM Moe
A distraught father has gotten no satisfaction from the city authorities of Baldur’s Gate, so he turns to sellswords in hopes of finding his lost daughter. The truth of her disappearance may reveal dark secrets from the city’s past – secrets that those on both sides of the law would kill to protect.
Level 4-7:
BALD 1-2 The Night I Called the Undead Out - DM John
You are asked to recover a stolen statue from an abandoned mansion in the Bloomridge neighborhood in Baldur’s Gate. What seems to be a simple task quickly turns into a night of terror. The timing of these events seems more than a bit coincidental. Can you protect the locals and still survive long enough to unravel the mystery?
The usual info on the RPGA and our events:
What is RPGA? - The Role Playing Gamers Association is a form of organized 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons gaming. Each RPGA event is a 4 hour session of D&D in which the players play through a sanctioned module. At the end of the module players are awarded money, xp and possibly a magic item. Players are then free to take that character to any other sanctioned RPGA event. So you could come out and play tomorrow, then bring your character down to Origins this weekend and play a game with the same character there.
Modules for RPGA run about 4-5 hours long and are somewhat serialized. This means that each module is a full stand alone story. There are some that are sequential but it's not necessary to have played the first part in a series to play the second (though usually there is a better reward if you play through an entire series. Our events start at 1:00 and we ask then you plan to be available until at least 6:00PM, though we usually finish before 5:00PM.
The current season of RPGA is set in The Forgotten Realms. They call these events Living Forgotten Realms because what you do in the module will affect the events in future modules. At the end of each module the DM will note down things like which NPCs were killed, which groups you helped etc. This gets reported to WotC who use the info to plan the future adventures.
So sounds great right? What do you need to play? Well all you need is a 1st level character that follows a very small set of restrictions (basically anything from a published source is allowed but they have to be full races and classes, so no monsters from the Monster Manual). Part of LFR is that you have to pick a region your character comes from (basically it ties your character to The Realms). For this I suggest checking out the Forgotten Realms Player's guide as there are some pretty cool benefits to coming from certain regions.
A two dollar donation is required to play. This money is split among the various DMs we have in order to recoup the cost of printing the modules, buying minis, etc. Sign ups are being taken at the store both in person or by phone. Pre-paying is suggested and guarantees you a spot. Sign ups for the next session will be avaliable at the start of the current game.
