It's been a long time since the WGR has hosted a Pints and Pawns event. These are slightly different from our Games and Grub events:
The concept is to get together and have few drinks, play a few games and share conversation with people who share similar (board gaming, video games, miniatures, card games, etc) interests. This will be the 9th time we've had one of these. In the past we've played Catan, Dalmuti, Fluxx, Ivanhoe, Bohnanza, Bang!, Wizard and other easy to learn yet still fun and challenging multi-player games. The main difference between these events and a Games and Grub is that most people have a few drinks with their games and the games are more Beer and Pretzel style games. This doesn't mean people can't bring and play complex strategy game, it's just not the norm for our past events.
We will be meeting at the Tecumseh Knights of Columbus on Lesperance Road (just off of Riverside Drive). We will be on the Pub side of the hall. There will be food and drinks available. As the KofC is giving us room to play for free I ask that everyone please support the venue. Friday night is Fish Fry night at the KofC (in the main hall) and I have been warned that parking can be hard to find, you can park across the street or on any nearby side streets.
I will be bringing Bohnanza and The Great Dalmuti as they have proven to be Pints and Pawns favourites, plus whatever else I feel like grabbing that night.
A disclaimer: The WGR has no ties or affiliation with the Knights of Columbus or what they represent, it's just a good venue to play some games at that also happens to be free.

Thanks to everyone that made it out. I think everyone had a great time (if you didn't please let me know what we can improve for next time). The venue actually turned out better then I expected with plenty or room, light and good food at reasonable prices. I would definitely go back.
Here's a list of games that were played. Quite a few of them multiple times: Hex Hex XL The Great Dalmuti Ra Dominion Apples to Apples For Sale Magic the Gathering In The Year of the Dragon Airlines Colonia Zombie Fluxx
I'm looking to do another event in October. If anyone has a preferred weekend let us know.
