Quickly: pretty nice sourcebook, if you want to do alot on Naboo. Written pre-revised rulebook, and trying to use it with the revised, can be a bit complicated.
Summary: gives you all you need to know about Naboo at the start of the Star Wars series. Written as a report to two Jedi on their way there, it details just about everthing. Who the trade federation are, who the Naboo are, who the Gungan are. What technology each has. The natural flora and fauna. Included is also a rather lengthy adventure for levels 1-3 set during the events of episode 1.
The Good: lots of nice details in here. Some nice new equipment, including weapons, vehicles and droids. The module is proving interesting. The amount of detail is pretty impressive, and includes some interesting behind the sceens info. Presentation is as expected for a sourcebook.
The bad: The adventure in the back does not follow any of the 'rules' given in the rulebook for writing adventures. It pits a group of 4 potentially level 1 heroes against 20 battle droids. What's up with that. It also includes absolutely no rules for experience points, or any indication of the adventures lenght (at least 4 sessions now, and the Queen is still on Coruscant). The rules in this are all 'hidden' throughout the book in side bars. This makes finding a particular one rather annoying. There is a lot more 'fluff' then rules. I guess this is to be expected, but I prefer my sourcebooks with more meat. Due to this being an old book, many of the stats for, well everything, don't quite mesh with the revised rulebook. Battledroids are overpowered compaired to the revised rules, but vehicles are underpowered. It's a pain to 'convert' as I am finding on a weekly basis.
The Ugly: the maps. The maps in Warhammer blow the maps in this book away (check my various warhammer reviews for my feelings about thier maps). They are pretty much to the point of uselessness.
Overall: if you want to play D20 Star Wars on Naboo, pick up the book, if not give it a skip. There isn't anything all that interesting in here that doesn't deal with Naboo. No cool new races to use in other settings. The only thing that may be worth picking this up for is for the rules for the various Trade Federation battleships, but I am sure that info can be found elsewhere.
