Included Jump to Lightspeed and Episode III Rage of the Wookies.
Quickly: old and plays like it. Action based combat is horrible. Characters are not compelling and a very contrived fanboy plot. Even the licence can't save this one.
Summary: the much debated MMO based on that ever famous Star Wars Licence. This was an MMO with a wide fan base and a system similar to Everquest and other MMOs out there, then the company making it messed with it, reset everyone to level 1, made it possible for everyone to be Jedi and Bounty Hunters and added an action based combat system. Some fans think they ruined it some think they made it better. Play a variety of Star Wars Races in 8 Star Wars Carrers and make your own mark on the Galaxy, with thousands of other players world wide.
The Good: it's Star Wars, I don't think that can every be a bad thing. The character generation as far as appearance is the best I have seen in an MMO. I could probably spend a couple days making various Rodians, Wookies and Bothans. The ship combat was a ton of fun and reminded me of great games like Wing Commander and X-Wing.
The Bad: unfortunately the Space flight part of an MMO isn't enough to make this worth any money, especially per month. The graphics are just old looking. They are the worse MMO graphics I have seen since the Realm (okay they are way better then the Realm but Everquest has it beat from what I have seen). Oddly the graphics in the space combat sections are rather good making it rather obvious that Jump to Lightspeed came out quite a bit after the original game. The character choices just aren't that cool. Well okay yeah Jedi are cool, but not when you see 30 of them walking around Ancorhead. For some reason they even threw in a Clone Trooper (Commando) right out of Ep II. I really don't get that one. In an effort to make this apeal to Fan Boys you get to play chacters based off characters from the movie and then you are tossed into a plot where Darth Vader is searching for you Personally (I didn't play long enough to find out why) and you are saved by Han Solo, Chewie, R2 and 3PO. Come on!?! How cheeze is that, every player in an MMO starts with the same lame fanfic start? Within about 10 minutes of playing you will have a Starship to modify, which was just too quick (from what I hear it took months to save up for a ship in the original).
The Ugly: The combat system is totally broken. You aim and shoot FPS style, while hitting 1-8 for skills like in guild wars or other MMOs. The problem is that the enemies move randomly, through objects and walls, going as far as blinking out of existance and back behind you. This wasn't a lag issue either, at one point I was in an instanced area, the only one there and only facing two foes. Who the heck thought this was a better combat system then your traditional autobattle mmo? This game is OLD. Not only do the graphics show it but the user base shows it. Finally arriving on Tatooine I found the place to be a metropolis with pretty much every square inch covered in a variety of dwellings of a variety of styles. These were all owned by players. I say were because none of them were around. It was a ghost town with thousands of empty shops, guilds, cantinas, etc. Now it's cool you could buy a house in this game, but in no way should Tatooine look like a ghost town metropolis.
Alright that's enough, I could go on about many other bad things, but I will stop now.
Summary: this game may have been cool at one time. Not anymore. It's showing it's age worse then the Theatrical Releases. The new improved combat system is poorly adopted to the engine and near impossible to play with. Watching enemies walk through solid objects I can't shoot through while I die is not my idea of fun. Neither is playing in a near deserted Star Wars universe filled with Jedi and Bounty Hunters.
