I was contacted by Nathan the writer of Timestream and asked if our group would like to playtest his next game called Carry.
Found this press on it on the web: "Nathan's next game, Carry, is based in the Vietnam War era and is about a squad of soldiers in Vietnam and how circumstances bring out the tensions and issues between and among them. It is inspired by Tim O'rien book The Things They Carried, as well as the films Platoon and Full Metal Jacket, and should be out later this year. "
This one isn't as much of a commitment as the game is a session game. As in it is played in one session. About 2-3 hours it states. Rules are only 25 or so pages so no huge tomes to learn this time.
Also have this info from Nathan: . The rules clock in at 25-26 pages. What I'd want from you is honest feedback (not that I'm worried about that), as well as the names of all the playtesters (as I would want to put them in the credits). I would also ask you to post your feedback at the Forge (www.indie-rpgs.com). I'm looking for a summer release for this game, maybe as late as GenCon.
What do you say to this one peeps? I personally don't see any problem with trying this one out, its a short one and much less involved then Cornerstone. Was thinking I could run it some Saturday or Friday and still keep the regular game on Sunday.

Sure. Not really my genre of choice but I'd be willing to try it.

Cool. I look forward to hearing what you guys have to say. There are a couple spots that I know need some more explanation (like if you aren't used to conflict resolution or very tight scene framing), so feel free to toss out questions about anything thats unclear or incomplete. And I'm not sure if I mentioned it in emails, but solid/useful feedback nets a playtester credit in the final game and a free copy of the PDF version of the game. You can snag the current version here. Thanks!

Just wondering when we can expect the next revision? Looking forward to trying this out again, with improved rules.

I should have the next revision done by the end of the week. It's been a busy mid-semester....
I'm glad you're looking forward to it!
