I have had a few people complain about the fact that they have no idea what threads are new and when a post they have made has a responce to it.
These things are managed by proboards and here is how to use them:
When you log on you will note the small ball next to the folder icon for each topic. If this is blue there are new posts in that board. Each topic of couse says new next to it when you go in (sure you noticed that).
The only problem with this is that if you log out and log in the blue dots disapear (it only shows what is new since your last log in).
Bookmarking a Thread - if there is a particular thread you are insterested in, reply to it and at the bottom of the Post Message screen is a checkbox for bookmark this thread.
You then go to your profile to see your bookmarks. Once in your bookmarks you can go to manage bookmarks and set it to email you every time that thread is updated. This way you can get email notification whenever a reply is created.
This is a great way to keep track of what you want to and not miss anything.

Note you can also set the default notification for all bookmarks to PM or email.
PMs are handled internally on the board (see top right next to the logo to see if you have any PM).
Also sorry if this sounds patronizing but some of our users, myself included, are new to the Proboards system.
