I've actually play 4 out of 5 of the Board Game nominee's so I will weigh in with my choice.
I chose Small World. It is light enough to introduce to non-gamers, it is easy to teach, and it plays different every time.
And since I've not played any of the other games in any of the other catagories I won't vote there.

Due, you have played or own like everything!
Out of those I've only played SmallWorld. Though I do own the new edition of Space Hulk, which while a great game is really only a remake of a game that should have won awards years ago.
