For the Agricola fan who wants everything – yet somehow doesn’t have everything – comes this new release of old material from German publisher Lookout Games: Agricola: The Goodies.
Agricola: The Goodies contains the L-deck of Agricola-related personalities, the Ö-deck and C-deck of Austrian- and Czech-specific occupations and minor improvements, the X-deck of general alien weirdness, five themed double-sided players boards, a sticker sheet for those who want to personalize their person tokens, and all the wooden tokens – veggies, animals and resources – that have been produced for the game since its tornado-like debut in 2007.
Since these items have been generally available in Germany, Agricola: The Goodies will be released only in English and Spanish, with August 2010 being the expected release date in the U.S. and July 2010 in Europe. Lookout Games’ Hanno Girke has noted that Goodies is limited to 2,500 copies of the English edition and 500 copies of the Spanish edition, with Homoludicus handling the latter item.
Updated, June 28 to add a corrected release date for Europe and the print run information. In addition, Pol Cors at Homoludicus notes that the Spanish edition will be titled Agricola: Tuning, having nothing approximating the spirit of “Goodies.” While the English version will retail for $60/£40, the price of the Spanish edition is still in the works as the basic Spanish Agricola already includes animeeples. so they’re not needed in the expansion. Complicated business, this international game release management!
I also just read that the English version of this set sold out (retailing orders) in a single day, and that Lookout Games has ordered a second printing already.
