One of the best new concepts to come out for 4e D&D last year was the idea of Themes. These were released in the Dark Sun rules and added a new level of character development to every character. Sadly the themes in Dark Sun were pretty Dark Sun specific, and weren't really of any use to anyone running a non-DS game. There have been many people, vocal online, asking for WotC do to more with themes. It seems they have been listening. I just stumbled upon a couple of articles that give themes for traditional D&D games. Heck I'm pretty sure these are open enough you could use them in any setting. Unfortunately they are for DDi subscribers only. If you do have a sub check them out: www.wizards.com/dnd/downloads/dragon/399/399_CharThemes_2.pdfwww.wizards.com/dnd/downloads/dragon/399/399_CharThemes_1.pdfIt looks like this is going to be a regular series as well. Personally I think this is a great addition to the game.
