Hello ashaman
Always glad to meet a fellow miniature player and history buff. If you and the other person ever want to do some mini gaming just let me know. yes I saw you playing Tide of Iron at the last session. I wanted to play but i was already playing civilization, which I had not played for quite awhile. Looks like a cool game, nice board and game pieces. How does it play, good rules?. I have played memories 44. Is Tide similar ? I would like to play sometime.

I can't believe I haven't posted here yet. Anyway, my handle comes from the twisted depths of my imagination, and I used it for Kingdom of Loathing, though I sorta got tired of the game awhile back. I play mostly D&D and the Hero system, dabbled with some White Wolf (older stuff, because used books are cheaper), tried GURPS at Pennsic (Medieval Reenactment camping event) but didn't really get too much into it. I am, however, willing to learn just about anything. I have a thread up in Gaming Discussion called "Looking for Players", if you like what you see, please contact me, there's not enough gaming going in my life. I'm playing a monthly game with some friends back in London, it's extremely episodic, and we're all DM's, so we've all got characters and the DM switches every month. At least that's the plan, we haven't had our first session yet. That's probably all there is to know, I've been gaming for about 7 years now, and I picked up GM/DMing pretty quickly out of necessity, I have an irritating tendency to railroad (I'm working on it!), and as a player I have a tendency to accidentally hog the spotlight (I'm working on that too). Ah, this is actually me. I couldn't remember my old username so I built a new account. I don't know if the admins can deactivate the old one or something, but this is still a pretty good introduction to me. That run-club style game lasted about five sessions, unfortunately it was too difficult to get us all together that often. These days I'm mostly looking for stuff I can do online or low-intensity games, as weekly on weekends is something I can't do anymore.

Hey there, I'm really bad at introductions.
My names John, my friend got me into D&D 4e last summer, and have been hooked on pen and paper RPGs ever since! I grew out of D&D though, and have been playing CoC Delta Green and my group is about to start nWoD. It's a shame that we barely ever get to play, everyone is always busy doing something else, we don't have any set days to play.

Hey guys, I'm Cory. Moving to Windsor in a couple of days here to go to law school at the U. I'm 23 and pretty much exclusively play D&D 3.5e (familiar with 4e). Looking for a weekly or twice weekly group in the evenings with a bit of flexibility. Complex political campaigns preferred, but hack n' slash is all good by me. PM me if you need a player, esp. an experienced bard/cleric/knight. Please note I am a roleplayer and an optimizer. My characters have backstories and are min/max'd. I'm looking for a group with similar ideas on how the game is to be played

I'm feeling the need to introduce myself, even though I've already posted.
A high-school student who's been playing D&D 3.5 for a good few years now, and a PS3 gamer. I've been looking for somewhere to get into the local gaming "scene" for a while now, and this seems like as good a place as any.

Greetings all,
Newly arrived from Chicago, I'm a 22 year old student currently majoring in Early Childhood Education, and I'm here looking to get involved in the Windsor traditional gaming scene.
I'm familiar with AD&D2, 3.5, Pathfinder, WFRP, but as of late have been looking into many indie RPGs, key amongst which is a little piece called Chronica Feudalis that tickles my particular niche of nerd fancy.
Beyond RPGs, I am extensively interested in strategic board games, and have experienced a great deal of Rio Grande and Fantasy Flight games in recent years, though the absolute in this regard for me is the incontestable juggernaut of the genre, Diplomacy. Second to this is Warrior Knights, an earlier Fantasy Flight shindig, and others.
I am also involved in a few miniatures war games. Though lacking in recent years, I was a large fan of Warhammer Fantasy Battles with a large Dark Elf force, and a few smaller forces (Bretonnians, Vampires, Empire). Similarly, I have dusted off and brought with me my Dark Eldar for Warhammer 40,000, and a pure Sisters of Battle Witch Hunters force opposite it. Much to my chagrin, it seems the local GW closed up about a week before my getting here!
Other minor games include Malifaux, a skirmish level card-based miniatures game, and Uncharted Seas a sleek fantasy naval combat game, a spiritual successor to Man-O-War.
I look forward to contributing what I can to these boards and to the community at large!

Welcome to the Windsor Gaming Resource and The City of Roses itself syrynn! Warrior Knights to me will always be a Games Workshop game from back in the day when they made mainly historic minis and boardgames. It sounds like you would have a good time at one of our boardgaming events. The next one is tentatively scheduled for October 2nd. If you have that Saturday free I suggest checking it out. You may even find someone willing to play Diplomacy, though we do only have reservations for 6 hours Even with the local GW store gone there are quite a few people here that play. There is a local Warhammer/Hordemachine club The Chosen Realms that meets regularly, you can find their forum here: s9.invisionfree.com/The_Chosen_Realms/index.phpIn addition if you are interested in a new mini game, Hugin and Munin hosts Hordemachine (Warmachine and/or Hodes) every Sunday. I also have a feeling that Game City may start picking up the GW slack, as they used to be an independent retailer before the manager left to open the GW store at the mall. I don't know for sure but I know the contacts are there.

Hello Everyone!
I just moved to Windsor from the Toronto area to start at the University. I found out about this site from a posting on the UWindsor facebook page (about the gaming night at Green Bean Cafe on Friday).
I've always wanted to get into RPGs and the like, but I'm just starting out and hoping to learn more. I do enjoy the occasional board game, and I love the Nintendo!
Now I'm off to explore the boards more and learn a bit more about what you guys offer ^_^

Hi, my name is Raeko! I enjoy all types of board/tabletop games. My room mates and I love playing Dominion, Catan, Arkham Horror, etc. I used to roleplay online when I was younger but stopped, I'm not sure if I will get back into it.
I am originally from Hamilton but moved to Windsor in September for university. My favourite things outside of games include clothes, food, and parties! I love beer and cute things. My room mate and I are planning to go to the IRL gaming night at Green Bean this month, I hope to meet you guys there!~

well the story goes is that I love D&D - yet I know no one who plays. In fact, I haven't seriously played since high school (i.e. 15 years ago). I would love to find a group that is willing to take on a rusty old newb and bring them into their group. I'm looking to get back into the world that I loved so many years ago and meet some new people with like interests. I loved playing quirky mages that burned their labs down when something went wrong and I love playing the absolute good of being a templar and everything in between. I would love to get back into gaming and really enjoying what I experienced those 15 years ago...

New player friendly for sure

Hey there, I'm Dragnar. I'm a D&D player and just got into Pathfinder. I've been playing for many years. I'm thinking of opening a store in the Windsor area but want input on what people would like or if people are happy with what's out there. From what I've seen there's not a lot in this area. Any comments would be great. I have started a thread in general discussions.

Hello - I'm Derrick. NPC and I are acquainted through G+. I play lots of tabletop fantasy RPGs, and like wargaming as well - Armati, Battletech, and War Machine are my top three there. I have played a bunch of 40k, but quit around 4th ed.
Except for stoner rock, NPC and I have almost nothing in common. Well, a whole bunch of mutual friends on G+.

Hey there! I'm now around here as well. I know Moe through the G-Plus, and have recently been lamenting the rather negative downward spiral of most social media sites currently out there. We got to chatting and decided to try and give this one another shot!
